Why I Am Running for Newport News City Council

I believe my background in government, finance and community service gives me a unique perspective and insight to take a leadership role in improving and unifying our City in the following areas:

• Assuring our citizens of a safe and orderly school system that fosters high academic achievement and prepares students for the highly-technological workforce of the future.
• Strengthening public safety and reducing violent crime throughout our City.
• Encouraging economic diversity for the City by making Newport News an attractive place for high-paying, high-technology, environmentally-clean employment opportunities.
• Effectively manage the flow of traffic throughout the City and obtaining funds for Middleground Boulevard extension ASAP.
• Improving the long-term financial future of Newport News.
• Looking to optimize solutions to problems through regional cooperation.
